JOB DESCRIPTION – SDK Engineering Manager

Location: Remote (UK)

Division: Ticketmaster

Contract Terms: Full time

THE JOB

Ticketmaster is seeking an Engineering Manager to drive the development of the next generation of SDKs for its ticketing platform. As the Engineering Manager for our Full Stack team, you will play a crucial role in driving the development and delivery of cutting-edge mobile and backend solutions. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled engineers, overseeing the entire development lifecycle, and ensuring the successful execution and delivery of high-impact projects.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Provide strategic guidance on technology, architecture, and development methodologies.
• Oversee end-to-end development, ensuring projects are on time and high-quality. Identify and mitigate risks to keep projects on track.
• Motivate and empower the team for collaboration, creativity, and growth.
• Support professional development of direct reports through mentorship and training.
• Implement best practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure high standards.
• Work closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical plans.
• Stay updated on industry trends, incorporating advancements into our technical roadmap.
• Participate in recruitment to attract top talent.
• Collaborate with client support teams and ensuring technical alignment with client needs.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Proven experience in managing and leading cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong technical background with experience in building and delivering iOS, Android and Backend applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to make strategic technical decisions and drive project success.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
• The ability to embrace and implement new technologies by keeping up-to-date w/ (beta iOS, Android releases and backend frameworks)
• Must have worked in position/s which have product releases on a frequent basis with track record of delivering quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Able to communicate effectively with Senior leadership regarding estimates, status, etc.
• Expert experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA process
• Adapts to change, open to new ideas, eager to take on new responsibilities, handles pressure well, and adjusts priorities to meet changing needs.
• Results oriented and can be counted on to meet or exceed goals; pushes self and others for improved results.
• Deals with problems as they arise, focusing energy and resources on those situations until resolved; identifies new opportunities and takes action; takes on new responsibilities when needed.
• Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision while promoting teamwork and group achievement.
• Experience with bug / issues tracking tools such as JIRA
• Knowledge, skills and ability should be expressed in terms of 'need to know' - the required knowledge of techniques, processes, procedures, systems and the business generally (its products or services), and 'need to be able to do' - the skills required in each area of activity. These are the technical competencies required by the job.
